There are countless ways to raise funds...you are limited only by your imagination. Here are a few ideas that have worked for other students. Upon completion of a student's Service Learning hours, we encourage the student to download and complete our reflections page. We believe that reflection is the key to learning from any experience in life. Taking the time to think about what one has been through helps the individual to assess (or re-assess) his/her values and life goals. Through reflection, the Service Learning experience becomes an integral part of the students life. Like a seed that is planted today and will blossom over time, the community service that is completed today directly and profoundly touches and impacts the life of another (a child in need) over time. Reflecting on that experience helps to ensure the participating student is aware of how his/her choices influence others in life.

students washing cars1.   Hold a Benefit Car Wash - This is one of the favorite fund raising ideas. Enlist your friends, secure a location and wash your way to success.

2.   Yard Sale/Rummage Sale - This is a good way to sell your unused/unwanted possessions and gather support for your cause. You can ask for dontations from friends, family, co-workers, teachers to build up your "inventory" and maximize your earning potential. Including a bake sale or other concessions (hot dogs and soda) is a great way to keep people browsing and raise additional funds at the same time.

3.   Bake Sale - This has been a tried-and-true fund raiser although there are some initial costs associated with making the delicious desserts. However, you can ask for "baked donations" from friends and family

4.   Collection Containers - Download our container cover to get started. Need some containers? Go around to some local restaurants and ask them to save their bulk condiment containers. They are the perfect size for our cover and to put out on counters.
